ssf IV

Capcom’s newest plans of milking the Street Fighter franchise seem a bit weird: instead of releasing new fighters as downloadable content, they announced Super Street Fighter IV as a disc based release which will bring 8 new characters, new online features and some rebalancing of older, over-powered characters (they’re looking at you, Sagat). The game won’t be sold at a  full 60 $ price (although no new price was mentioned yet) and to those who wonder why they should keep they ‘vanilla’ Street Fighter IV copies, Capcom announced that SSFIV will offer current SFIV owners some kind of a bonus (again, no mention of what that would be).

3 new characters were revealed: T. Hawk, Dee Jay and Juri. The first two play somewhat like their previous iterations but Juri fells more like a King of Fighters type of character with quick moves and using the same type of soul power that Bison and Rose use. Older characters will receive new ultra combos and a lobby system for online games was hinted. Super Street Fighter IV is slated to be released in spring 2010 for the PS3 and 360. There was no mention of a PC version yet but producer Yoshinori Ono, when asked about an arcande version has stated: “I’m sorry to disappoint them but this time its going to be Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 only affair.”
