Looks like Riot Games have big plans for League of Legends. Appart from making the beta open for everyone, they also announced that a pre-season will start on October 27th which will allow players to get more comfortable with the game, learn the ropes and the champions.

Interesting is the season model that LoL will follow: the first season will begin sometime in spring 2010 and include all things a competitive moba needs: clans, teams, tournaments, ranked play and ladders, a draft mode and most important, for me, new champions (those are the heroes), runes and maps. So every season will be bringing something new to LoL, we could see old champions disappearing, new ones emerging and, most likely, Christmas maps; in all, a great way for Riot Games to keep things fresh.
